MIO is a theatre and performing arts producer and maker, with + 10 years working across film, film festivals, theatre and opera internationally. She has produced more than 20 critically acclaimed theatre, musical, and opera productions, working with some of her country’s most recognized directors, actors, and designers, as well as with some of the most renowned cultural organizations in Mexico.

As a creative producer she focuses on promoting the highest standards of artistic and production endeavour in Mexico’s industry, as well as to promote new talent. Both in the UK and in Mexico, she seeks to tell stories through cross-disciplines of Latin American and international writers, to promote perspectives and voices that are vibrant, relevant, urgent, and that have a strong universal resonance in today’s world. 

She has an MFA in Advanced Theatre Practice from London’s Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, and in 2018 she debuted as a director at The Arcola Theatre with her sold-out and four-star (Sunday Express) immersive opera production A Fantastic Bohemian.

She has worked in the Directing Departments of the world’s most renowned opera companies including, The Birmingham Opera Company, the Royal Opera House, and the English National Opera – assisting directors Graham Vick CBE and Daniel Kramer.
